Hare Krishna

Who is Krishna? Why do people dress in robes and chant His name on the streets? What is the philosophy of these Krishna devotees? What's the meaning of their chant?
Krishna is a name of the Supreme. It means "all- attractive." Anything that might attract you has its source in the Supreme. Therefore the Supreme is also known as Rama (rhymes with "drama"). "Rama" means "the highest eternal pleasure."

All of us are pleasure-seeking creatures. So you can say that directly or indirectly we are all seeking Krishna. Chanting Hare Krishna is a way of seeking Krishna directly.
As for the word "Hare" (pronounced huh-ray), it's a call to Krishna's divine energy. Just as the sun shines forth to us through its energies like heat and light, the Supreme reveals Himself through His multitude of energies. If the Supreme is the source of everything, then whatever we see--and even what we don't see-- belongs to the energy of the Supreme.
Now we're trying to exploit that energy, but the more we try the more entangled we get and the more complex our life becomes. But when we place ourselves in harmony with Krishna and Krishna's energy, we return to our natural, pure state of consciousness. This is what we call "Krishna consciousness."

Krishna consciousness is not something imposed on the mind. On the contrary, it's already inside of each of us, waiting to come out, like fire in a match. Chanting Hare Krishna brings out that natural, pure state of mind.

The chant is called a mantra, a vibration of sound that cleanses the mind, freeing it from anxiety and illusion. And this is a mantra anyone can chant. It's for people of all religions, all nations, all colors, and both sexes. No need to pay any fees, join any group, or turn your life upside down. Whoever you are, whatever you do, you can try the chanting for yourself and experience its result.

Krishna and His energy are fully present in the sound of the mantra, so even if we don't know the language or intellectually understand how it works, by coming in touch with Krishna we'll become happy, and our life will become sublime.

I am so lucky that I have friends who are one of the Hare Krishna's through them I was able to get to know more about it and their belief better. Kap Jun, kap Makhan and kap Satcha are the first members I know. I've known them for about 2 years now and every now and then I am lucky to be part of their activities. They had the food for life, festivals, they also volunteering in Red cross and/or other form of help to the community.

I were also able to join them in their food for life program were their community...do cook all vegetarian meals for our less fortunate community and sharing out the blessings for free. That's why there's no doubt that they are being blessed back. Aside from that I was able to witness one of their goddess festival (sorry I forgot the name.. eheh) and visited their temple somewhere in Makati. I had witnessed and listened to their never ending chants, and also were able to pray and wish.

After the festival

These people only eat pure vegetables... as in no meat at all, even the candies or chocolate there should be NO EGGS on it that's why we check on first the ingredients before we offer it to them.. eheheh. Then they are not even allowed to use and cook their food in the same pot were meats were cooked or for them to get on served food that a spoon that was used was deeped in meat.

What I like the most thou is the Luta tea - Luya tanglad tea, its so good and refreshing, but I like it with a bit of sugar. Being with them I have also learned to eat  vegetables alone, no extra viand. Well atleast that helps me out with my health isn't?! I've also introduced, seen and ate the vege meat or the vege flakes its a subsitute for meat, and I can say its good!

All of these are just vegeis

And aside from the fact that they are kind, nice, soft hearted person these 3 are individually well talented, they have this amazing hands and beautiful minds in creating crafts from clay, woods and other materials that can be seen around. They do play instuments well, speacially the jamba and most of the time we always had a jam. I am really so amazed with these guys, cause despite of loads of activities they still have all the energy to join us in mountaineering. And oh one more thing everytime that I'm with them or we are together in a gathering arrrggg there are no dull moments with these happy souls. Lot of stories to tell, lots of moral to share.

Food for life @ Licao Licao

Well I'm just so happy knowing you guys, hoping there will be more activities we can all share together.. speaking of there will another food for life I'l be joining on NOv. 16 then next thing tara akyat na ulit!

Thank you guys for letting us see your world. Nice meeting you.

at narito ang late post, I mean super late post

Nariyan ang Simbahan ng Quiapo, San Juan Del Monte, San Vicente de Paul, Tondo Church, Our Lady of the Abandoned, Santa Cruz, San Felipe Neri, Binondo Church, Cathedral Church, San Agustin.

Alibijaban Island: Solo trip II

Thank you Lord for the fine weather

Most of the time everytime we will be going somewhere or do something like traveling, hiking, going to different places we want to be with our friends, family or someone important to you, well i surely agree with that, who doesn't want to. Because we know things will be happier to do with your loved ones, to share the moments with them. However, there are some or there will be a moment that you would like to be on your own, to do things by yourself, to be somewhere you are not familiar, be with people you don't know and doesn't know you either..just learning to deal with... its a total world of strangers.

Some may think that it will be dangerous knowing no one in that place, well come to think of it danger is always there, just waiting to happen, but then with trust, knowledge and awareness of things around you I guess that danger can be surpassed

Me and my itchy feet off to Quezon.

These are the view along the way.animals, fields, trees

And this is my view from bangka, got the front sit..so i got all the splashes.. niiiice!

Just this last weekend August 30,2014 since I have a long weekend from work so I deceided to push on w/ my plan, so...I went to this Island that only afew had visited, that only few knows, its the Alibihahan Island in San Andres Quezon, all by myself a solo exploration! I have been planning to visit this Island for so long however due to time and weather constrained it was only now I was able to fulfill my dream. (By the way my apology to my dadi koi if I didn't bring you along as I've said this is a long dream of mine and also to test my capability and self reliance, but next time) Nevertheless that was still so worth it! As Ive got new ideas, experience a lot of new things and I can proudly say I've made it! eheheh

To be able to get there one must take a bus bound to Lucena grand terminal that may takes 4-5 hours from Manila, then from terminal have to take mini bus plying to San Andres, and that's gonna be another 6-7 hours of butt forming travel. But wait there's more to be in the Island itself you have to walk for about 5 mins going to port and bangkas will be waiting to transport you to the Pulo, as what's been known. Bangka transfer may take 15-20minutes so while waiting to reach the island you may want to pan your eyes from left to right, to the sea and sky have your self be captured of the silence of the nature.

even Omie bear enjoys the view

A week before this tour Ive been praying and asking God to allow me to do this by giving me a good weather, well what can I say God is really so good, the day is magnificent, the sea is so calm and peaceful specially when I was in the bangka we have crossed the sea safe and sound. It may had rained a little but overall the sky was beaming with great light and heat. From the port you could easily see the Pulo and once you get closer you will not gonna miss it as the shore is filled with whitish/brownies sand. I reached the Island about 7.30am, and since I dont know any from there and didn't even gives a head up to kuya Randy Velo (who is incharge of the visitors) no one waited for me nor knows my presence. Thou I looked for kuya Randy as I as adviced at the port to look for him unfortunately he and his wife are not there, good thing mam Jenina (a school teacher there) was available to accommodate me. He even asked her son Redgie and kuya Randy's son to join me and tour the Island. We walked from shore passing the bakawan to bridge to the "farm" to bantayan until we went back but using a different trail. Since the water was "tibas" means low tide (taeb = high tide) so we walked in bakawan and saw the sand in the middle of sea, there is even one part that at one angle forms a heart. It was so cute, the place is so beautiful, so peaceful, calm and the people are so nice. Who wouldn't fall in love with the place and promise to come back.

When I came back to this "receiving place" kuya Randy is already there, met him, talked a little then since It was already past 11am I ate my packed lunch, rest for a while, took lot more pictures and just sat in the sand facing the blue-green clear sea that because it so clear you could see the sand at the bottom...as well as the sea urchins.  Whispered a small thank you and prayer, and just let my self be captured by the beauty of the place I even fell asleep. Then when I woke up Inel and even mam Jenina invited me to take a deep in the water, ahhhh the water is refreshing its warm but still cold. Weird ha...

with Ate Jean and the kids

                                                       Had our own moments.. separately..eheheh

Time fly so fast, at one moment I was just enjoying then all of a sudden I was being told by the setting sun I have to prepare to go. I was already prep up but kuya Randy is still not coming back from the afternoon fishing. So while waiting I spent time first with the ate Jean, mam Jenina and some kids. I brought some packs of candies and chocolates, and with those goodies I could see that they liked it and they had fun... well I had fun too talking to them, playing with them, teasing with them Just a nice way to spend time while waiting, aside from that I walked on the shore, feeling the breeze of the air and watching the sun set as it forms a beautiful painting in the sky.

Sadly the time has come and as much as I would like to do an overnight there I'm just alone and besides the travel back is gonna be another 10hours or more and I still wanna go up to Mt. Maranat to see tatay and some loved ones.. eheheh so I have to move on---------------- It was already six when the bangka sailed back to port, bid good bye to ate Jean and kuya Randy, went to bus terminal , I took the superlines bus that have the latest trip back to Manila (if you want to stay longer at the island)  that leaves at 9:30pm. I was asleep all through out the trip, except for that one bus stop where I had to pee then after I'm back to sleeping again and when I woke the next thing I knew I'm already in Manila, I get off at Cubao then from there I directly went to Bulacan to do a trek to Mt. Maranat. weeeooew ahahahah super trip!

Now that i have done the Alibihaban Island tour.. I wonder where me and my itchy feet will be next hmmmmm?

I thank God for the safe ride, for a good weather, nice people here and there, for the beautiful nature and amazing trip. To Jp, bez Quel and my Dadi O for supporting my crazyness eheheh .. dont worry there will next time, to make you worry again,, ahahahah LuvU. And to mom as well.. muah muah

Look deep into Nature, and you will understand everything better
